Youth Auxiliary Groups

The first clubs were formed in the 1950's under the names of Zetalites, Amicettes and Archonettes. These clubs were composed of young ladies between the ages of 9 and 18 who were matriculating in junior and senior high school. In July 1994 at the 74th Boule, the national body officially adopted the Pearlettes as a national youth auxiliary of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. In January 1996, the age range was extended to age 8, instead of 7; in order to get a smooth transition from Pearlette to Amicette.

These clubs are sponsored by various chapters of the Sorority. Programs were developed, guidelines established and they are viable links to the Sorority.

Currently the programs are classified as followed:

Archonettes- High school youth group
Amicettes- Youth group ages 9 - 13 years
Pearlettes- Youth group ages 4 - 8 years

Zeta Tau Zeta has one Archonette club in Matteson, IL. The club meets on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month at Colin Powell Middle School. Our city Amicette/Archonette club meets at Bethel Imani Lutheran Church at 62001 Sangamon St, Chicago, IL. If you have young ladies who would be interested in becoming members please contact Gwendolyn Carson at gmc2130@sbcglobal.net.
